Jakarta, Indonesia’s bustling, fast paced, and cosmopolitan capital city of contrasts; traditional and sacred yet rapidly becoming worldly and ultra-modern. Home to over 10 million people, Jakarta serves as the gateway to 17,000 islands across the archipelago for both business and leisure travelers from across the globe.
Its population is a collage of ethnic diversity, living under the national motto: Bhineka Tunggal Ika or Unity in Diversity, an autonomous province consisting of five municipalities: Central, North, West, East and South Jakarta and the District of Pulau Seribu or the Thousand Islands.
