JHA Cooking Competition for Young Chef and Professional Chef

Jakarta, 04 October 2018 - Jakarta Hotels Association (JHA) announce their support for this year cooking competition during SIAL Interfood Exhibition that takes place at JIEXPO Kemayoran on November 21 – 24, 2018. Arranged by Association of Culinary Professional (ACP) Indonesia, this cooking competition is divided into two categories – professional and Junior Chef for students to compete in Indonesia Archipelago Cuisine Class.

 

 

Indonesia cuisine is a rich mixture of flavor, colors, texture and aromas and it is very diverse as Indonesian Archipelago, it is also influence by so many factors including its rich culture. JHA Executive Committee member for Education and Activities Mr. Kanit Sangmookda said, “Indonesia culture is always intertwined with its cuisine. As Hotel Association we are proud to promote and introduce the diverse of Indonesia Cuisine through the competition”. Aside from the cooking competition, each team will also be competing in table setting and service.

 

 

This year, for Junior Chef Category, the association initiate a mentor program in order for all participants to be exposed to the high quality of food, service and table setting that will increase their opportunity to win the competition. We have select 5 hotels as the mentor for each team: Le Meridien Jakarta, DoubleTree by Hilton, Fairmont, The Dharmawangsa and Shangri-La Jakarta. The students will have a great chance to learn from experienced Chefs and Food and Beverage associates of these 5-star hotels.

 

“We hope that through this competition, participants will garner a rich appreciation for their traditional cuisine and encourage them to polishing their professional skills,” he added.
